As strategic planners of
issue-oriented meetings and conferences, both national and
international:
Counterparts plans and manages both small and large meetings in
the U.S. and in other countries. For 15 years we have run
international conferences that have drawn hundreds of
participants from up to 55 nations. Counterparts conducts site
visits, contracts with hotels, works with committees to plan
agendas, organizes panels, manages speakers and participants,
handles the logistics of the event itself, and documents
outcomes. |

As cross-cultural program
developers and trainers:
Counterparts' bilingual, multi-cultural staff has lived and
worked in various countries. Our experiences have fostered a
respect for and understanding of both cultural norms and the
nuances of language. Counterparts can help your organization
handle verbal and non-verbal communication challenges in the U.S.
or in a foreign country. We have experience in developing social
service and health programs for mixed-language groups, and we
offer cross-cultural training. |

As facilitators of dialogue
within advisory bodies and working teams:
Counterparts leads work groups responsible for planning
multi-disciplinary programs and developing cross-sector grant
proposals. We served for ten years as the "secretariat"
to a multi-national planning body responsible for influencing
international policies and implementing national programs for
children. At the national level, we have facilitated planning
processes aimed at improving the delivery of social and mental
health services and at inserting mediation into local family
court systems. |

As planners of assistive
technology displays and providers of AT training:
Counterparts plans and runs assistive technology (AT) Cyber Cafes
both in the U.S. and abroad that showcase state-of-the-art
computer software and hardware that extend the reach of adults
and children who are deaf, blind, and physically, emotionally, or
intellectually challenged. We can plan these displays and provide
training in both Spanish and English.
