Partners and Clients

Meet the principals of our company. We are women who enjoy blending our talents to help our clients carry out their projects. We are purposeful, focused, and work as a team, expanding our ranks as needed to accomplish tasks.

Counterparts' Principals:

Cappie Morgan
Cappie founded Counterparts in 1985 and heads the Washington, D.C., office. Prior to Counterparts, Cappie's work in urban renewal through the federal Model Cities program and in community development through the Peace Corps in Latin America gave her expertise in developing and running social service programs. Twenty years of work through Counterparts in countries around the world on disability issues has given her broad knowledge of international and national policies as well as local programs that promote the inclusion of all people in society. Cappie excels in planning and managing projects and events, and enjoys bringing together networks and resources to support causes and programs.

Josefina E. Durán
Josefina heads Counterparts' Southwestern office in her native Arizona. She is bilingual, bicultural, and a federally certified English-Spanish court interpreter. A trainer and group facilitator, Josefina is particularly effective working with groups outside the mainstream. She has lived and worked in Latin America and, within the U.S., has served in both federal and state governments. Additionally, she has years of experience with Indigenous communities, women's groups, and refugees from various countries, helping them adapt to their new environment, develop survival skills, and find employment.

Lizza Perú
Lizza integrates skills in engineering, computer technology, and human resources management. She assists clients with audio-visual presentations, desktop publishing projects, digital-image editing, and website development. Her knowledge of human resource management helps clients develop job-related skills. For Counterparts, Lizza has created assistive technology workshops for children, youth, and adults with disabilities in Canada, the U.S., Argentina, and Norway. These workshops help individuals with cognitive and physical challenges connect with the larger world and both find and keep jobs. Lizza communicates easily in Spanish and English in both technical and non-technical settings.
